Multimodal Capturing of Polysulfides by Phosphorus-Doped Carbon Composites for Flexible High-Energy-Density Lithium–Sulfur Batteries (Small 21/2022)

In article number 2200326, Kang-Jun Baeg, Jun-Woo Park, an co-workers develop high-energy-density flexible lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries with high-loading, free-standing cathodes and chemically functionalized carbon mixture interlayers. The multimodal capturing effect via simultaneous physical trapping and strong chemical interactions is highly efficient for immobilizing the polysulfide. It leads to significantly improved electrochemical performance for flexible/portable electronics and electric vehicles.
